The Postal Codes Module allows your end users to search listings within a radius of their inputed postal code. In the search page of your site, this module adds a “Postal Code” field which your end user can input the postal code of their choice as well as choose from a pulldown menu the distance that they would like to find listings for.

I’m writing this article, because of the number of times that this seems to have come up in the 68 Classifieds support forums. Obviously, it is a feature that many seem to want and I believe it certainly brings up some interesting uses.

This is a review of the upcoming new version of 68 Classifieds Software Script Version 4.1. Scheduled to be released on: Monday, February 16, 2009. The last major release, Version 4.0 was on February 19, 2008. It looks like we’re on a yearly schedule.

After going live with my Community 68 Classifieds site, I noticed that for some reason I was getting a number of abandoned listings. An abandoned listing is when someone clicks on the “Place and ad” link and starts the process to post a classified ad, but never finishes the process. You end up with a listing that is set to inactive.
